Funeral Day is primitively known as Decoration Day, but in 1882, some starting calling this Memorial Day. But till 1967 this was not an established name. On 5th Might, 1868 Memorial Day was first proclaimed by the General John A. Logan.

There are so many events coordinated by many people of the high society. On Funeral Day we can also prepare a party or picnic and every guest bring a story of someone who served for the country. We can also go for cemetery and place candle and flag on the veteran’s tragique.
My children and I know that “Old Glory” will not wave by accident. All of us have lost loved ones to war. Memorial Day time is special. Memorial Day time is for remembering the sacrifices produced by others – for us – for our continued freedom. But I believe the day should also be taken to create new memories.
Having lost family to war, I believe I am able to put this particular holiday in perspective. This is a day, in fact an entire weekend, for us to accomplish 2 things: remembering and appreciating the supreme sacrifice made by others and doing exercises those won freedoms in a way that creates fond memories with those we have to love.
Memorial Day should certainly be more meaningful than simply a 3 day weekend or mini vacation. It is a sacred day of remembrance… but it will also be a time for the living to enjoy each others company while time permits. I especially like to totally encircle myself with friends and family on this day, or even on this entire weekend break, to signify what we (still) have because of those who gave their lives.
It is Memorial Time weekend and the weather is so beautiful here in Washington, D. C. The crowds have gathered for all the festivities and celebrations to respect please remember those who offered our Country. Many have already claimed their spaces on the lawn to view the dress rehearsal for the annual Memorial Day Concert. This 12 months the Washington National Cathedral welcomed the Rolling Thunder motorcycle riders with a Blessing of the Bikes. There are so many ways to respect and remember.
The last Monday of May since 1868, has been designated as Memorial Day. Now, during that weekend, beer and picnic
supply sales escalate. Travelers drive our place’s highways en masse. Also keep in mind the Indy 500.
Even though it’s important to have fun and celebrate Memorial service
Day weekend is likely to way, it’s also important to remember why that day exists. It had been set apart to salute U. S. troops and pay tribute to the awesome eschew these brave men and women make, and are still making, for our freedoms.
