LOCATION Abigail Stoneman Inn is centrally located, in a quiet Historic Hill location, on prestigious Touro Street. The Inn is within walking distance of most Newport attractions and two blocks from Newport's famous harbor front, with its many historic sites, restaurants, shops and galleries.
Within our own block are several historic landmarks, including Touro Synagogue (America's first synogogue), the Newport Historical Society (in one of Newport's famous old buildings) and as well as other architecturally important historic buildings.
Two blocks north is Bellevue Avenue with its famed mansions, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport Art Museum, Redwood Library (America's first), more shops and restaurants.
GETTING HERE We are about 3½ hours from New York, 1½ hours from Boston and 2½ hours from Hartford. The nearest airport is TF Green, just outside of Providence, which is half an hour away. The address is 102 Touro Street, on the corner of Touro and Mt. Vernon Streets. Parking is behind the Inn. Check Google Maps.
FROM NEW YORK
>Take I-95 North to exit 3 in RI for Route 138 East
>Follow blue road signs for Newport Bridge. You will go over the Jamestown Bridge, then the Newport Toll Bridge
>Take the first exit off Newport Bridge. Take a right at bottom of off-ramp
>At the second traffic light turn right where road forks. America's Cup Avenue begins there
>America's Cup will turn left by the harbor/wharf area and turn into Memorial Boulevard at a traffic light. Follow Memorial uphill to the second traffic light which is a big intersection with Bellevue Avenue
>Make a left onto Bellevue Avenue and follow past the Hotel Viking and the Newport Fire Station. Bellevue Avenue will turn into Touro Street at the traffic light after the Viking Hotel.
>The Inn is on the corner of Touro Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue. Parking is on Mt.Vernon behind the Inn
FROM BOSTON
>Take I-93 South to Route 24 South. Follow Route 24 to its end where Route 114 begins
>Follow Route 114 into Middletown. After passing Home Depot and Staples on your right, there will be a stop light. Take a left at the light, following the route 214 sign (there will be a store called Modern Furniture Galleries on your left)
>Follow Route 214 for approximately 10 minutes down to the beach area. Cross the beach on the causeway and enter into Newport
>Follow Memorial Boulevard up the hill and take a right at the first light onto Bellevue Avenue
>Follow Bellevue Avenue past the Hotel Viking and the Newport Fire Station. Bellevue Avenue will turn into Touro Street at the traffic light after the Viking Hotel

FROM PROVIDENCE OR TF GREEN AIRPORT
>Follow I-95 South to Exit 9 for Route 4 (left hand exit)
>Route 4 will turn into Route 1 South
