Tea and Sympathy features a king high-back Lincoln bed, sitting area with two chairs, marble-surrounded fireplace, 10-foot high ceilings, concealed LCD HDTV, DVD, and iPod-enabled sound system with built-in room speakers. The State Room is quietly tucked away on a second floor corner that overlooks the inn's surroundings gardens. The marble bathing salon is accented in creamy yellows and blues, and features a two-person whirlpool, pedestal sink, and separate shower.

Tea And Sympathy is appointed with memorabilia from the surprising life of colonial widow Abigail Stoneman, who in 1766 became Newport's first woman entrepreneur -- opening a tea room, coffee house, provision shop, several bars, and two inns. She is also credited with developing coffee houses in Boston and New York.
