A picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to Vanity Fair Suite. The whirlpool room is dramatically set in a huge bay window, surrounded by green marble. The tub for 2 faces out toward a large gas fireplace. You may never leave.

Eleven-foot ceilings and distinctive, floor-to-ceiling arch top windows wind through the suite's 4 rooms, from the front of the Inn to the back.

The living room features roll arm sofa, chair, and cocktail table, with a large gas fireplace. Through a set of lace-shrouded French doors, an elaborate bathing salon showcases a handcrafted, marble steam bath shower for two with drop down teak benches.

A hallway from the living and whirlpool rooms leads back to the bedroom. It features an immense Duke of Marlboro king 4 poster and a reading area with Victorian love seat, tucked into a floor-to-ceiling bay window. There are LCD HDTVs in the bedroom and living room, DVD players, and the iPod sound system has speakers with room controls throughout. Located on the first floor. Rate range $300 - $495. The suite is decorated with art and memorabilia from Newport's Gilded Age (1865 - 1900), including a rare, framed first edition cover of Vanity Fair magazine and works by William Makepeace Thackeray - who in 1848 wrote "VANITY FAIR" (the book), considered by many as the most important English novel of the Victorian era. It was a period marked by extravagant excess and a vanity of social pretension.
